Human trafficking is often talked about as an issue that happens in big cities or other countries. You don’t often think about it happening here, that is until a major human trafficking case hits the local news. Five people from West Kentucky and Tennessee were recently arrested in an undercover sting operation in Union City, TN for trafficking minors for commercial sex. The idea of selling our children to adults for sex is appalling but as this activity becomes more common and is brought to the public eye it’s important for all of us to not just be aware that it’s going on but to do all within our power to stand in the gap for the most vulnerable among us. Because this is what good citizens do.
