President-elect Joe Biden promised to champion LGBT identity as a new civil right. And the nation’s most influential LGBT organization, called the Human Rights Campaign is aggressively pushing the new administration to make it happen. The Human Rights Campaign released its Blueprint for Positive Change 2020. One proposal would create “a non-binary gender marker” on United States’ passports.” This would create a new legal status for those who identify as transgender or gender non-conforming. Another proposal in the Blueprint is to ensure that “non-discrimination policies and science-based curriculum are not undermined by a religious exemption to accreditation standards.” In other words, the Human Rights Campaign proposal could strip Christian colleges and universities of accreditation, and this would be catastrophic. The Human Rights Campaign appeals to inclusivity, but the Blueprint illustrates a new level of marginalization and intolerance.
