Do you remember when teenage boys at a Hazard, Kentucky High School gave lap dances to staff and girls dressed in Hooters outfits? As a result of this horrendous event, the Principal, who is also the Mayor of Hazard, along with two other employees received a reprimand from the school district. The reprimand stated that they demonstrated “poor professional judgment in that [they] allowed a student-led skit to reach an inappropriate level.” This was more than poor professional judgment. How did school administrators ever think this activity at a school assembly was ever appropriate? Parents should expect teachers to model virtue and use good judgment as they’re entrusted to teach their children and the next generation of American citizens. And if they cannot do that, more parents will insist it’s time for them to find another profession.
