A federal judge was heckled into silence at Stanford University. Justice Kyle Duncan, a judge on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, was invited by the university’s Federalist Society to speak. During Judge Duncan’s speech, protestors interrupted him, calling him a transphobe and a racist. When Justice Duncan asked for an administrator to control the crowd, the school’s associate Dean of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Tirien Steinbauch, joined the chaos by lecturing him on how his work had caused harm. She then asked him if what he has to say is worth dividing the students. We should expect more from a top university. If the law school fails to teach respect toward a federal judge, then how can anything the school does be respected?
