Yesterday, many Christians across the commonwealth celebrated the resurrection of the risen Savior Jesus Christ. The story of Easter is about Christ dying on a cross and taking our sins upon himself, and rising from the grave. It’s the great exchange: Jesus imparts his righteousness to believers in exchange for their sin and shame. Christ’s sacrifice is what makes us right with God, and it has implications for all of life. While the majority of Kentuckians identify as Christian, too many forget that this means that Christ is the Lord of all of life: family, work, politics, and community. It only makes sense that when you believe that the God of the universe gave us new life, we should honor him with it. So let’s begin our week with that in mind.
