Pixar is known for classic animated movies like Finding Nemo and Cars. It’s a top-notch studio whose movies often have good messages. However, the latest movie called Onward misses the mark. It’s about two brothers, voiced by Chris Pratt and Tom Holland who set out on a mission to resurrect their father. But what’s alarmed many parents is that it’s their first animated movie with an openly homosexual character. It will feature a purple cyclops police officer, named Officer Specter, who’s voiced by lesbian actress Lena Waithe, who talks about her “girlfriend.” In response, there’s a national petition and effort to boycott it. Many believe that desensitizing young children to same-sex relationships is harmful and unhealthy for vulnerable children. Onward was released on Friday, March 6.
