Dr. Julie Hamilton recently briefed a group of Kentucky legislators who are being asked to ban something called conversion therapy. LGBT activists coined the term years ago under the premise that homosexual or transgender identity is unchangeable and that it’s harmful to try to help somebody change their orientation. One of the arguments is that change efforts could lead to higher suicide rates. In fact, a research paper tried to prove this. But after another researcher dug into the details and they found exactly the opposite. The researcher found that suicide attempts were dramatically reduced to more than 80 between 82 percent to 91 percent when therapy Sexual Orientation Change Efforts OCE followed a prior expression of suicidal thoughts. And this is good news for those who desire to change and align their behavior with their Creator’s desires for them.
