George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley testified in a congressional impeachment inquiry, and said that the size and complexity of President Joe Biden’s influence peddling is unprecedented. First District (KY) US Congressman Jamie Comer is chairing the inquiry. And he’s trying to get to the bottom of the Biden family business practices that used political influence for personal gain. Turley was the first of four witnesses who will testify in the hearings. Now some charge that the inquiry is Republican retribution for the Democrats’ impeachment of Donald Trump. In our hyper-partisan age, power and winning become supreme. And it’s easy to abuse a process for political ends. Whatever the motivation for this inquiry, congressional investigation should be based on credible evidence, and justice should not be partisan.
