A new bill in the Kentucky House of Representatives would make the possession or sale of child sex dolls a felony. House Bill 207, sponsored by Rep. Stephanie Dietz (R- Edgewood), would, in her words, help “protect our children from predators and exploitation.” In addition to physical objects, the law would also address artificial intelligence by criminalizing real or fictional child pornography created using AI. It is both sad and disturbing that Kentucky lawmakers must address this, but it’s also necessary. We live in a culture that celebrates sin, and that often leads to the victimization of our most vulnerable—our children. And Kentucky legislators are banning perverse objects like child sex dolls and methods that threatens our children and their innocence.
