One of the most controversial issues in our society today is whether or not minor children should be allowed to transition to the opposite sex. The state of California has entered the fray and, in essence, is serving as a sanctuary state for children who want to transition. California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed Senate Bill 107 into law which goes into effect next month. The bill gives courts temporary emergency jurisdiction over any child that claims they’ve been unable to get what some call “gender-affirming care.” This also includes kids who come from other states to California. Parents are not included in these life-changing decisions, and healthcare workers are authorized to keep medical records from parents. This is a wake-up call to Kentucky legislators and other states concerned about parental rights and the well-being of children.
