California state government recently launched a billboard campaign in seven states inviting women to come to California for abortions. It’s called abortion tourism. And it’s a chilling and creepy way to attract visitors. But there’s another twist. The billboards in Mississippi and Oklahoma quote Scripture, citing Mark 12:31, which says “Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no greater commandment than these.” While this verse is taken out of context and the first part about loving God is absent, it still contradicts the message of the billboards. Abortion is the taking of an unborn life and none of us would want to have our lives taken. The God of the Bible and his Word are unapologetically pro-life, and even when his Word is misquoted, that message still stands.
