Anheuser Busch named transgender activist and influencer Dylan Mulvaney as its new spokesperson for Bud Light. Mulvaney, a man who identifies as a woman, announced this in a Tik Tok video of him in a tub sipping from cans of Bud Light with his face on them. The announcement comes a week after the company’s Vice President of Marketing explained in an interview that the brand has been in decline and the only way to move forward is through inclusivity. The results? Anheuser-Busch’s value dropped by more than $5 billion since the announcement. Bud Light may choose transgender people to represent their product, but those who drink their product are choosing not to identify with a beer brand that is offensive to their sensibilities.
