China has more males than females. In fact, 34 million more males. This has created a problem for men who want to marry. So an organization built a database to that is registering women and their availability to men. Nearly two million women are registered in the database with details like addresses, phone numbers, education, and a ”BreedReady" status. Really? "Breed ready?" This sounds like something out of the dystopian Handmaid's Tale where an authoritarian government has reduced women to the property of men. China does have an authoritarian government and the gender imbalance is from its one-child policy that led to parents aborting their female babies because males are valued more in Chinese society. This gender imbalance shows that females are highly valued but they should be valued far beyond their ability to have children.
