The Boy Scouts are changing their name to Scouting America. And the organization has been on a path of changing its identity for well over a decade, starting with openly homosexual scoutmasters and then allowing girls into their ranks in 2019. The name change reflects an abandonment of the Boy Scout’s mission to develop boys into responsible and virtuous men. They instilled civic virtue, outdoor skills, and leadership—all in the context of a wholesome male environment. But the Boy Scouts caved in to a culture with serious gender confusion. While disappointing to parents, there are alternatives which preserve the Boy Scouts’ original values. Groups like Trail Life USA have emerged to fill the void the Boy Scouts leave behind. You can find out more information by visiting Trail Life’s website at traillifeusa.com.
