Gender Dysphoric Minors are Safer after Skrmetti Decision

Gender Dysphoric Minors are Safer after Skrmetti Decision

History was made earlier in June when the U.S. Supreme Court handed down a decision in United States v. Skrmetti. In a 6-3 majority, the Court upheld the constitutionality of a Tennessee law (SB 1) which banned untested and dangerous hormone therapy for gender dysphoric children. The decision also set a precedent that shields twenty-four similar state bans from Equal Protection challenges, including Kentucky’s SB 150.

The Ideals Under the American Flag

The Ideals Under the American Flag

On the way home from my office the other day I was delighted to see several small American flags affixed atop a lengthy row of fence posts in our Bald Knob neighborhood. They caught me by surprise and a feeling of gratitude welled up. Our neighbors across from us were celebrating Flag Day. This patriotic holiday, stuck between Memorial Day and Independence Day, is often-overlooked. But it’s an important day nonetheless.

Executive Branch Ethics Commission investigation disturbing

Executive Branch Ethics Commission investigation disturbing

A few weeks ago, it was reported that the Executive Branch Ethics Commission was investigating former Attorney General Daniel Cameron. Mr. Cameron referred to the Commission as “Governor Beshear’s Commission” and there may be some validity to his comments. This report on an investigation of former AG Daniel Cameron by the Executive Branch Ethics Commission is disturbing on a couple of levels but perhaps not for what you think.

Trump’s EO and HB 4 Force Shift in Kentucky’s DEI Landscape

Schools across Kentucky are adapting to President Trump’s Executive Order on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs. Universities are also shutting down DEI initiatives, aligning themselves with the White House’s directive as well as Kentucky’s House Bill 4.

Trump’s Easter Proclamation and the Need for a Savior

Trump’s Easter Proclamation and the Need for a Savior

President Trump’s statement on Holy week is causing a stir. In part, he said he and Melania “join in prayer with Christians celebrating the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ—the living Son of God who conquered death, freed us from sin, and unlocked the gates of Heaven for all of humanity.” This theologically robust statement isn’t the kind of thing Americans have heard from recent presidents, and it contrasts sharply with former President Joe Biden’s statement affirming the Transgender Day of Visibility, which fell on Easter Sunday in 2024.

Sheepish About Tariffs

Sheepish About Tariffs

President Trump declared April 2 “Liberation Day” where a 10 percent across the board tariff was tacked to foreign imports. “We’ve been taken advantage of,” Trump has repeatedly said, pointing to other nations that have higher tariffs on U.S. goods.

Andy Beshear Doubles Down on Leftism to Prepare for 2028

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear’s national star is rising. He’s now considered a Democratic presidential contender for 2028. In January, he was on the international stage after joining a panel at the Davos World Economic Forum. His peers elected him to lead the Democratic Governors Association in 2026. He was on the short list to be Kamala Harris’s running mate.

Kentucky DOGE Moving Ahead

Kentucky DOGE Moving Ahead

According to a CBS News/YouGov poll, 51% of Americans approve President Trump’s cuts to the federal workforce. Altogether, 87% of Republicans and 14% of Democrats agree. The poll was taken between February 26-28 and found that a majority of Americans believe there’s too much wasteful spending at the federal level. On the chopping block are 19 federal offices in Kentucky according to the Department of Government Efficiency website.
