Pres. Joe Biden is delivering on his campaign promise to remove the Hyde Amendment from his proposed federal budget. The Hyde Amendment forbids federal funds from being used to pay for abortions. Throughout his long political career, Biden supported the Hyde Amendment. But now, under pressure from the far Left of the Democratic Party, he supports its removal in the name of equality. The ACLU said that this action will lift discriminatory barriers to abortion access and “is a matter of racial and economic justice that cannot wait.” This is certainly a justice issue, but not like they mean If the Hyde Amendment is removed, taxpayers will foot will pay for the unjust killing of millions of babies. President Biden campaigned on unity. But the removal of the bi-partisan Hyde Amendment is anything but unifying.
