President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race. He’s now endorsing his Vice President, Kamala Harris, for president. It’s a historical moment. And it’s unprecedented. Never before has a sitting president withdrawn from a campaign after winning the primary. This puts us in new territory. But who put us here? Legacy media outlets failed to report Biden’s cognitive decline over the last couple of years. So did his staff and political allies. Now Democrats must figure out how to select a new nominee. Just like in 1968, Democrats will go into their national convention in Chicago surrounded by incredible upheaval. Hopefully this year will not be a repeat of the 1968 convention that turned ugly and violent.
