The University of Louisville School of Medicine has been under scrutiny from Kentucky Republican lawmakers. The school has formed a partnership with EMW Women’s Clinic in Louisville to help instruct OB/GYN students on how to perform abortions. And UofL professor Dr. Ashlee Bergin served as a witness for abortion providers to block Kentucky’s abortion ban. This has caused suspicions over UofL potentially funding abortions. State Rep. Jason Nemes came to the defense of the unborn. He said, “I believe the overwhelming number of taxpayers in Kentucky do not want their money, and their institutions and their government… going toward performing abortions.” Now that abortion law has been given back to the states, the Kentucky legislature should ensure that our tax dollars should not be used to train OB/GYNs to kill unborn human life.

As a Kentucky ultrasound technologist is applaud the University of Louisville and Dr. Bergin for upholding the integrity their medical program above the opinions of politicians. I am a Republican. Politics has no place in medicine. Do you want a Senator or a well trained Doctor making medical decisions for your pregnant wives and daughters? Think logically and keep politics out of medicine.
Your political party is not into logic, or science, or facts, or keeping politics and government out of our lives and medical decisions.
