The issue of abortion has been in the news a lot lately. This is because several states, including Kentucky have banned abortions once a fetal heartbeat is detected. Now, Alabama has effectively banned all abortion.  Governor Kay Ivey signed the Alabama Human Life Protection Act into law which protects the unborn at its earliest stages. It's the most stringent abortion restriction in the nation and abortionists who violate the law face up to 99 years in prison. The bill received strong bipartisan support in both chambers of the Legislature. Ivey said the bill "stands as a powerful testament to Alabamians’ deeply held belief that every life is precious and that every life is a sacred gift from God." The heart of the nation is trending pro-life because a majority see abortion as the taking of an innocent human life. Expect other states to follow suit.
