Twenty state attorneys general are officially opposing Critical Race Theory. This is in response to the Biden Administration’s proposal to prioritize federal grant programs that fund the use of the “1619 Project” and CRT in schools. CRT teaches that America is fundamentally a racist country and our systems are inherently racist. The letter sent by the conservative Attorney Generals, including Kentucky’s Daniel Cameron, made it clear to the Department of Education that they oppose the teaching of critical race theory (CRT) in classrooms. So they asked for the reconsideration of Biden’s proposal. The Attorneys Generals said in their letter “Promoting this warped view of American history does not support the teaching of American history as required” by federal law.  It’s significant that Daniel Cameron, who is black, signed the letter and is opposed to CRT.
