The 2022 midterm elections are in the rearview mirror. Now it’s our task as citizens to learn how to peacefully live together. If your candidate won, be magnanimous. However, if your candidate lost, realize that life goes on. We still have the freedom and liberty to pursue our calling, to enjoy our first amendment freedoms, and to raise our families. In a recent conversation with Dr. Albert Mohler of Southern Seminary, he said that regardless of the election outcome, Christians should plant a tree. They should build houses, raise families, and work for the well-being of their community. And to “seek the welfare of the city…. for in its welfare you will find your welfare.” It’s an ancient word from the prophet Jeremiah, and it’s still applicable today.
