Afghanistan has fallen. And it happened in lightning speed as the Taliban ran roughshod over the country and nearly walked into the capital of Kabul without serious resistance. The U.S. has been there for nearly 20 years and poured over a trillion dollars into rebuilding the nation’s infrastructure and institutions. Afghani women have experienced unprecedented dignity and opportunity. But today, it’s all gone. Now it’s being evacuated, and reports indicate that the Taliban is seeking to kill anyone who cooperated with the U.S. Failures abound, beginning with Pres. Joe Biden’s costly decision to leave the Afghanis exposed to the rogue Taliban regime. Sad thing is that Afghanistan is now fairly modernized, with more weapons capability than they did when they sheltered Al Quaeda before they attached us in 2001.
