For decades, June has focused on self-expression and individual identity—otherwise known as “Pride Month”. But a growing movement is calling Americans to something more enduring: fidelity to God, family, community, and country. Fidelity Month was started by Princeton professor Robert P. George and it seeks to renew appreciation for virtues that have historically strengthened our nation. At a time when fewer Americans prioritize religion, family formation, community involvement, and patriotism, Fidelity Month offers a different vision of human flourishing. Rather than celebrating the self as life’s highest good, fidelity emphasizes commitment, responsibility, and service to others. In this way, Fidelity Month draws us out of ourselves to celebrate the virtues that have long made America great.
