The U.S. Supreme Court was asked to stop tele-health abortions and drugs to continue while litigation proceeds. Some believe it may reflect a strategic procedural choice rather than a final ruling on the issue. Still, the broader trend regarding abortion is clear: the majority of abortions are now done with pills. Abortion is frequently treated as a matter of convenience. And the political wrangling is over consumer access. Critics say that tele-health abortion puts women at great risk since there’s no doctor or medical professional caring for them. Sending pills through the mail may make access easier and more private, but it doesn’t make abortion any safer.  And in Kentucky it’s still illegal to send deadly drugs across state lines.
