The 2023 Kentucky General Assembly resumes on Feb. 7. There’s much to be done to address many of the challenges facing the Commonwealth, but it never fails that accompanying every new legislative session are tactics stoking fear and anger to prompt involvement. Yet is this a healthy way to engage and move public policy? Of course, there are some issues that are incomprehensible. Evil raises its ugly head in the public realm, and it must be confronted. But if any issue is to be effectively addressed, its important to move ahead with a level head, being careful with our words and deliberate in our actions. II Timothy 1:7 says, “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
