I got a call the other day from a concerned Bowling Green citizen who shared with me that there was a drag show at a public venue where children were present. Now common sense should tell us that there are certain things not appropriate for children. Yet this isn’t always the case. Hempfield High School in Pennsylvania recently hosted a drag show for students after school. I saw the video on TikTok, and quite frankly, “erotic dance routines in drag outfits” was appalling. It should go without saying that drag shows at your local public high school are wrong. High school administrators apologized, and the teacher who allowed this is on administrative leave. The sexualization of our children is real. And our concern for their well-being necessitates all of us with moral scruples to stand in the gap for them.
