The Golden Globes awarded the best actress award to a man who identifies as a woman. Men can’t become women, and women can’t become men no matter how much one identifies as the opposite sex. Transgenderism is dangerous to people themselves, and it’s dangerous to the idea of truth in our culture. As a result, women are losing to men in categories specifically set aside for women. A man recently become the most successful “woman” in the game show Jeopardy. Another man is shattering women’s records in college swimming. There’s plenty to debate when it comes to award shows, game shows, and sporting events. But categories such as male and female are concrete. Truth matters, and it matters that we embrace once again embrace truth-telling.
