The Trigg County Hospital ER doctor said the hospital there is overwhelmed with Covid patients. The same is true for many hospitals across the commonwealth. Overall, over 100,000 people in the country have been hospitalized for the coronavirus. This is the highest number of hospitalizations in eight months. And that was before the vaccine was widely available to the public. Nearly one-third of intensive care unit beds are holding COVID-19 patients. Hospitals are at capacity in the South and Northwestern states. Needless to say, this is more serious than many realized. Most in intensive care haven’t been immunized, but it would seem many wished they did get the vaccine. Just over half (51.7%) of the U.S. population is fully vaccinated. And 61 percent have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
