You’ve probably heard of sanctuary cities for illegal immigrants and pro-life measures. Now a Kentucky state representative wants to make Kentucky a sanctuary state for the Second Amendment. State Rep. Josh Bray (R-Mt. Vernon) has introduced legislation that would forbid state and local police from enforcing federal restrictions on gun owners’ rights. This includes restrictions on firearms, ammunition, and firearm accessories. The proposal is in response to President Biden’s effort to ban so-called assault weapons. Bray believes that the Second Amendment is under attack and needs to be affirmed by the Kentucky state legislature. He says his bill sends a clear message that “ there is no question we will defend the Second Amendment against any attempt to infringe upon it.”
