Last week, Troops stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, were deployed to the southern border following President Trump’s national emergency declaration. The 716th Military Police Battalion, under the command of Lt. Col. Phillip Mason, will work with the Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection to enhance security along the border. This deployment is part of serious efforts to control our porous southern border where millions are illegally passing through in recent years. The move protects our national security, and ensures orderly and legal immigration. President Trump has indicated that up to ten thousand soldiers may be sent, underscoring the importance of military involvement in strengthening U.S. border security. And Kentucky and the soldiers at Fort Campbell are doing their part.
