President Trump signed an executive order to stop banks from shutting down customer accounts based on their conservative political or religious views. This is leftwing cancel culture and Trumps EO puts an end to this. Last legislative session, representative, Scott Sharp of Ashland introduced a bill that would stop the banking in the commonwealth. He shared a story about a family member who is the banked simply because they were Second Amendment supporters. Some may argue that banks should be able to choose who they do businesses with. But banks are highly regulated and serve a public function. We’d be appalled if they turned people away based on their skin color and we should be just as appalled if they discriminate based on a person’s politics or religion.
