Toyota is abandoning its DEI programs and will no longer celebrate Pride Month after strong pushback. Toyota once embraced far left policies in the workplace. But they’ve realized that DEI is a distraction from good business. Toyota’s statement says that it will “narrow community activities to align with STEM education and workforce readiness.” In other words, they will only support activities in line with their original mission, which is creating a great product. Toyota’s not alone. Other companies (like Ford, John Deere, and Tractor Supply) are also distancing themselves from divisive ideologies. In the end, politicizing the workplace is bad for business. This is great news for the over 9,000 Kentuckians who work at the largest Toyota plant in the world in Georgetown, Kentucky.
