Yesterday, most American’s celebrated Easter. While it’s become a cultural holiday celebrated by coloring eggs and chocolate bunnies, have you considered the meaning of Easter? Easter is a story about healing, resurrection, and victory over death. Easter is bigger than candy baskets filled with jelly beans; it’s about the Christ – the long awaited Messiah who would fight evil, take on the sins of the world, and make all things that were wrong right again. The good news of Easter is that Jesus Christ came to heal our broken and empty souls. He promises to carry the sin burdens of those who are “weary and laden” and give rest to their souls. And he invites you to repent and come to him today. That’s the good news of Easter that might have been missed yesterday.
