A Texas judge ruled that Mifepristone, otherwise known as the abortion pill, is illegal. Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk delivered the ruling and explained that the court doesn’t take contradicting the FDA lightly. Judge Kaczmaryk essentially said that the FDA’s approval of this drug is rooted in studies that don’t support its conclusions that it is safe for women. Many are upset about the ruling, including Vice President Kamala Harris, who condemned the ruling. But others understand this ruling protects not only babies, but all women and girls. Senior Counsel with Alliance Defending Freedom, Erik Baptist, probably said it best: “By illegally approving dangerous chemical abortion drugs, the FDA put women and girls in harm’s way, and it’s high time the agency is held accountable for its reckless actions.”
