Mahmoud Khalil was a graduate student at Columbia University majoring in International Relations. He was also the organizer of pro-Hamas activity and anti-Israel protests. According to an AP story, Khalil “faced sanctions for potentially helping to organize an ‘unauthorized marching event’ in which participants glorified Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel.” Khalil held a green card and was from Palestine. Now he’s been detained by ICE officials and told that his green card was being revoked. Keep in mind that green card recipients are foreigners who are here as guests. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the administration “will be revoking the visas and/or green cards of Hamas supporters in America so they can be deported.”
