There’s a case before the U.S. Supreme Court that could seriously weaken or overturn Roe v. Wade; the court decision that legalized abortion on demand nearly 50 years ago. The case is called Gee v. June Medical Services, LLC. The abortion industry is challenging a Louisiana law that requires abortion centers to have the same medical and health standards as any other surgical center. It also requires an ambulatory service agreement between the abortion center and a local hospital. Louisiana passed the law in the interest of protecting women’s health and ensuring their safety regardless of what surgical center was working on them. Now the case has support from Congress. Altogether, 39 U.S. Senators and 168 House members support upholding Louisiana’s common-sense law.
