Over 1.7 million illegal immigrants were detained by the U.S. Border Patrol at the Mexico border in the last year. This is a record high according to the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol. “Illegal crossings skyrocketed in the months after President Biden took office,” according to the Washington Post. Now the Biden administration has admitted that it is flying illegal immigrant minors into New York City. Pres. Biden ended several policies that stemmed from illegal immigration, including stopping construction on the border wall, which has been viewed as a green light to illegal immigrants. Understandably, people in poor countries want to come here. After all, we’re a nation of immigrants. But we’re a nation of laws. And if we want to remain a nation worth coming to, the rule of law and our borders must be maintained, regardless of who’s in the White House.
