Pulaski County public schools took a public stand against Amendment 2, which is a measure to give parents education freedom on the November ballot. This is a violation a Kentucky statute that of says, “tax dollars shall not be used to advocate…for or against any public question that appears on the ballot.” School district attorneys are doubling down and saying they have a right to publicly engage this issue. It is understandable that school administrators would vigorously oppose an amendment that they see as a threat to public schools. But Attorney General Russell Coleman said they have overstepped. He said, “public resources must not be used to campaign for or against the proposed constitutional amendments on the ballot this November.”
