A recent survey of professors in the American South found that 70% are concerned with the politicization of higher ed, especially protections for academic freedom and tenure. Legislators in conservative states like Kentucky have taken action to fight divisive ideologies like DEI. It’s unfair for liberals to cry “foul” about the supposed politicization of our universities, when in fact, that’s what they’re doing! The real threat to academic freedom is from the political Left and illiberal elites where only one worldview is allowed. Most major universities have banished conservative professors and ideas from campus. That’s why the Kentucky General Assembly is working to ensure that public universities–supported by public tax dollars–are teaching truth, not ideology.
