The internet and digital media have made pornography widely available and easily accessible, especially to our children. Many kids have accidentally stumbled upon it while doing internet searches, entangling them in unhealthy and addictive behaviors. Not only is it heavily addictive, it also changes the brain, changes one’s view of sexuality, and we are now seeing it lead to physical and sexual violence. According to a recent report, a teacher in England has said that “the threats of sexual assault are becoming increasingly common due to the abuse of online porn.” Here in the US, porn has desensitized us and degraded human beings to sexual objects. Our children need a better message. And as adults, we should begin to protect their vulnerable hearts and minds by keeping porn out of their reach.
