Aurora, Colorado, has experienced a crime spree after thousands of Venezuelan migrants moved into the city. Police have arrested eight people who are part of a Venezuelan gang that is terrorizing other migrants. They face charges like attempted burglary, aggravated assault, and attempted murder. One man was likely killed in a gang shooting. This is unacceptable in any country. When an immigrant migrates to another country, they are expected to assimilate to the norms of that country. Immigrant violence in a community doesn’t reflect well on any nationality. America attracts immigrants from over the world because we’re a land of opportunity. But when violence accompanies immigrants, it doesn’t just hurt the innocent, it hurts law-abiding immigrants and how they’re perceived as well.
