Altogether, 59 are dead and over 500 wounded in the worst mass shooting in our history. Evil is real, and it made itself known last week at an outdoor country music concert in Las Vegas. But just as there is evil, there is good. That was demonstrated by many acts of courage and sacrifice. Gail Davis was protected by a police officer who shielded her and her husband from the gunfire. She called the officer her "guardian angel." Sonny Melton, a nurse from Tennessee, shielded his wife Heather and ended up taking a bullet directed at her. He was killed. Jesus said "There is no greater love than when a man lays down his life for a friend." In such time of grief and tragedy, where else can we turn but to God? May each of us turn to the God of healing and comfort today.
