Kentucky ranks the fifth best state in the nation for business and infrastructure investments. The report specifically cites Gov. Andy Beshear’s cooperation with Ohio leadership to build the Brent Spence Companion Bridge in Northern Kentucky. While Gov. Beshear has traveled the state and been a good cheerleader for infrastructure development, the Republican-led legislature is in the shadows. Some have complained they’ve not properly received the credit due them. This is because the legislature actually determines which projects to pursue. It’s the legislature that holds committee meetings, prioritizes need, and in the end provides funding. While Kentucky is doing well in infrastructure development, the legislature should get a lot more credit than it does.
