The Kentucky State legislature passed a law banning the use of tax dollars to fund gender transition surgeries. Under the new law, gender transitions of prisoners would stop. It also bans Medicaid funds for gender transitions for poor people. The left is crying foul and saying this is “anti-trans legislation.” But we should ask, since when has it become a right to insist that taxpayers fund somebody’s gender dysphoria? The science is clear that external changes mutilating perfectly healthy body parts is not actually helping a person. Forcing taxpayers to pay for this is not what they signed up for. The state legislature is supposed to fund essential government services and has protected taxpayers from picking up the tab to fund other’s peoples personal choices.
