Close to 800,000 Kentuckians voted early this election season, the largest number ever. Early voting is catching on here and many factors moved voters to go to the polls early. Many Kentuckians are frustrated with the direction of the country, and well over 1 million Kentuckians voted for Donald Trump, who won the Bluegrass state by nearly 30 points. Amendment 2 also led to huge numbers showing up early. This Amendment would have opened the door to school choice in Kentucky. But the Jefferson County Teachers’ Association spent a quarter million and the NEA spent over $5.5 million to misrepresent the issue and confuse voters and defeat the measure. If more had known that Trump was for it, perhaps they’d have voted differently.
