Congress cut Planned Parenthood’s funding for one year. According to their 2024 annual report they received $792 million in government health services reimbursements and grants. But U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani in Boston issued a preliminary injunction. She said the law unfairly targets Planned Parenthood because they provide abortions. Of course, PP is responsible for over 300,000 abortions annually. Many taxpayers resent that the government is doing business with an organization that has blood on its hands. Judge Talwani may be ideologically supportive of abortion, but she’s veered into the lane of Congress which holds the power of the purse and has the final say on where federal tax dollars are spent. If Talwani wants to restore funding of Planned Parentood, perhaps she should run for Congress.
