Jefferson County Public Schools offered professional development to their teachers earlier this month. A group session entitled “LGBTQ+ and Trauma” normalized acceptance of sexually active teens and taught teachers how to provide “affirming care.” There was a time when public educators discouraged sexual activity of school age adolescents. But not anymore. JCPS is normalizing LGBT identity in the classroom and it dismisses the convictions of Christian teachers who can’t affirm it. JCPS is confusing kids and crossing moral boundaries. And they’re disregarding parental rights. The more time schools spend on controversial social activism that promotes immorality and confusion, the less time our kids will be learning. Perhaps this is just another reason why Amendment 2 is receiving so much support across the Commonwealth.
