The abortion issue is taking center stage in the governor’s race between Daniel Cameron and Andy Beshear. Cameron is pro life. Beshear is pro-abortion. The latest ad by Andy Beshear attacks Cameron’s pro-life position by featuring a young woman who was raped by her stepfather when she was just 12 years old. It’s tragic. It’s horrible. The stepfather went to jail. Rape is illegal in Kentucky and is punished severely. But Beshear’s inflammatory ad is meant to anger women and diminish the principle that human life is worth protecting in the womb, something that Cameron has defended in his tenure as Kentucky’s Attorney General. We’ll find out what the voters think on November 7.
