Ever wonder why universities are losing their credibility as places of civility and respect? Harvard is the latest example of foolishness. 101 professors are outraged that their school is combating anti-Semitism which was widely evident on their campus in recent months. The professors wrote an open letter where they took issue with the classification of the popular chant heard on campus. “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” Calling for the obliteration of the state of Israel is clearly anti-Semitic. For professors to conflate this hostile anti-semitism with free speech is absurd. In fact, professors who cannot tell the difference between free speech and the free exchange of idea with the violent genocide need to find another job. Perhaps the university would regain some of its credibility.
