Kamala Harris selected Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate. Some thought Harris would pick a swing state moderate to balance the ticket. The Midwest is competitive, and Harris is trying to cover that base. Walz appears to be a good humored grandfatherly figure, but his policies are anything but grandfatherly. Consider that last year he made Minnesota a sanctuary state for gender dysphoric youth and nullified parental rights in the process. He also made Minnesota a sanctuary state for abortions and legalized recreational marijuana. Interestingly, Walz is calling Republicans “weird.” While his demeanor appears winsome and jovial, his policies certainly aren’t. We’ll see what the voters think about the Harris/Walz ticket in November.
